Remote sensing and GIS expert to support sustainable supply chains and traceability

Global Risk Assessment Services (GRAS) is an innovative service and information provider offering knowledge about environmental and social sustainability for public and private sector clients. GRAS provides solutions to prove compliance with sustainability requirements, to implement no deforestation strategies and to support sustainability certification with a special focus on the efficient application of geospatial data and remote sensing technologies.

To support our team in our key activity of processing and evaluation of remote sensing data and GIS-based sustainability analyses and the development of traceability tools, we are looking for a remote sensing and GIS expert to support our international, young and dynamic team in our Cologne office.

Main activities:
  • Processing of satellite data for e.g. land use change assessments
  • Automatization of geodata processing
  • Development of innovative processing algorithms
  • Conduction of sustainability assessments
  • Project management
  • Communication with international partners
Your qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in geography, geoinformatics, agriculture and forestry, agricultural economics and/ or a study with a thematic focus on topics such as sustainability, environmental and climate protection, renewable energies
  • Work experience in the field of remote sensing
  • Knowledge in R, QGIS or ArcGIS
  • Advanced knowledge in automated processing of satellite data
  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written English is essential
  • Experience in project management
