Key features
FARAMO provides a comprehensive data management and collection system with user-friendly mobile applications for smart devices, secure databases, and customizable dashboards to manage your content and perform sustainability assessments:
Mapping Application
GRAS simplifies mapping for smallholders, enabling accurate area size calculations, yield estimation, risk assessment, and GHG monitoring. With user-friendly tools, anyone can efficiently collect reliable geodata without requiring technical expertise.
Information Management System
The FARAMO Information Management System (IMS) by GRAS provides a secure and intuitive platform for data organization and management. Its sleek design streamlines workflows, ensuring efficient handling of critical information for stakeholders.
Integrated Sustainability Assessment
GRAS uses advanced methodologies to assess smallholder fields for risks, such as deforestation, fires, peatland overlaps, and proximity to protected areas. Continuous monitoring ensures compliance with key environmental sustainability criteria.
Tracking Application
The GRAS Tracking App records and verifies delivery data, securely linking it to smallholder fields. This transparent and reliable system enhances traceability, ensuring that goods like fresh fruit bunches can be tracked seamlessly throughout the supply chain.
Offline Functionality
FARAMO offers offline capabilities, allowing data collection without internet access. This ensures smooth operation in remote locations, enabling users to capture and save essential information for later synchronisation with the system.
FARAMO Add-Ons
FARAMO is a customizable solution, and offers sector-specific solutions as add-ons tailored to the unique needs of businesses and industry:
Green House Gas (GHG)
Collect precise geo-coordinates and field-specific greenhouse gas emission data directly from agricultural sites, enabling real-time, accurate data collection across large areas and comprehensive GHG emissions tracking. The tool enhances the accuracy of emissions assessments, helps identify key emission sources, and supports sustainable decision-making through detailed GHG calculations.
Food Security Standard
Developed in collaboration with Food Security Standard (FSS), the FSS Add-on offers a digital solution tailored for agribusinesses to collect entity-specific data to conduct risk assessments focussing on food security-related environmental and human rights risks, to support compliance with certification schemes and due diligence obligations.
EUDR
Collect geo-coordinates for farmer and smallholder fields, assess them against EUDR-specific deforestation and land-use change layers directly in FARAMO, providing a pre-check for your EUDR compliance data. The Add-On generates files ready for direct upload to EUDRx or other EUDR compliant systems, streamlining compliance and reducing the complexity of fulfilling regulatory requirements.
How to get started
With FARAMO, users can collect farmer geo-locations and other information directly from the fields using a hand-held Android device with GPS enabled. Here’s how it works:
Create Farmer ID and Input relevant information
Scan the QR code of the farmer using the mobile application. Input farmer relevant information.
Map smallholder farmer fields
Using a GPS-enable smartphone, walk around adding corners and completely map the farmer field.
Save and upload field data
Upload collected information to the system to organize and assess collected data against deforestation check and biodiversity layers.
Organize and export data
Collected data is now available for export in usable formats to be used in different systems like EUDRx for further assessment.
